Main aims of the conference are: exchanging scientific reflection and artistic experiences in learning, creating and promoting various conducting creations in modern musical movement.
The conference will cover the role of the conductor as a creator, animator, teacher, educator with the strong emphasis on educational aspect. It will present substantial and practical details of conducting. The subject we are suggesting is suitable for conductors, academic teachers, music groups instructors, as well as students interested in leading musical groups in the future.
This conference makes opportunity to present new areas of the artistic activity, which is based in conducting creations with both – traditional and innovative understanding of the artistry of conducting for the needs of musical groups. It will pertain professional and amateur musical movement (market).

Suggestions of the topical areas that can be covered In lectures:
• Specifics of conducting workshop in the context of society, psychology as well as needs and expectations of the musical groups’ members
• Conductor’s personality and its influence on skills and artistic level of the choir
• Conductor or/and culture manager on the contemporary culture market
• Personality as an aspect of conducting art
• Different methods of work as a conductor in different types of musical groups
• Different aspects of conductor’s work: voice training, conducting, methodics of leading choirs
• Education of the new generation of conductors for both amateur and professional musical movement
• Composers connected with Cieszyn Silesia region
• Joseph Swider – composer – teacher – master

INFORMATIONS:

1.Venue
Conference will take place at the University of Silesia In Cieszyn campus, Bielska 62 street, 43-400 Cieszyn
Lectures and discussions will take place at the “D” Building – Institute of Music, Niemcewicza of Music, Niemcewicza 2 street, 43-400 Cieszyn
Applications (attachment) with proposals of topic areas you will cover in the conference (either lecture, talk or workshop) send via e-mail (festiwalswider@us.edu.pl) by the 30th of September 2016.
2. Expected duration (approximately):
Lecture – 20 min
Talk – 15 min
Commentaries – no more than 7 min
3. Participation fee
Participation fee is 350 PLN. Organizer is providing conference materials, official dinner, coffee breaks and (after review) publication in post-conference materials. Payment entitles to take part in the whole event of the International Prof. Joseph Swider’s Festival of Music (Conference, Seminary, Workshops, Choral competition).
4. Accommodation and meals
Participants are covering the cost of accommodation (in the University campus prize is around 30-40 PLN per night) and meals.
Organizers are expecting bookings for accommodation by 30th October 2016.
Meals are available at the University café. Interested participants of the seminar are covering the costs by their own. Prizes: around 10 PLN per meal.
